Nested in the confluence of the Sudbury River and the Concord River, the town of Concord was originally known as Musketaquid which means “grassy plain” in Algonquian. It is in Concord that American Revolutionary war began. Concord became a rich literary center during ht mid-nineteenth century were Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Bronson Alcott, Louisa May Alcott and Henry David Thoreau played a crucial role.
